The largest literary prize in Canada, the Scotiabank Giller Prize, has launched a lookbook to remind us that a must-have statement piece has always been a good book.
The 2023 Scotiabank Giller Prize Lookbook finds the intersection between literature and fashion, styling this year’s shortlisted books in an editorial collection of photos highlighting the titles as an essential part of your outfit.
With the historic Fairmont Royal York as the backdrop, photography duo Saty & Pratha were the perfect pair to capture the Scotiabank Giller Prize’s effort to relaunch with an elevated look and feel to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. The “Book Lookbook” features an array of diverse faces with a modern flair while capturing the essence of the Canadian literature landscape, and tapping into “literary chic” and a collegiate aesthetic that is stylish and modern yet remains timeless and classic.
About the Scotiabank Giller Prize
Scotiabank has been the title sponsor of the Giller Prize since 2005. The Giller Prize highlights the very best in Canadian fiction year after year. In 2005, the prize teamed up with Scotiabank, increasing the winnings 4-fold. The Scotiabank Giller Prize now awards $100,000 annually to the author of the best Canadian novel, graphic novel or short story collection published in English, and $10,000 to each of the finalists.
