Over the past decade, Collingwood and The Blue Mountains have become a destination for foodies and wine lovers. With a growing emphasis on farm-to-table dining and local vineyards offering exceptional vintages, the region has become a culinary hub with something for everyone. You’ll find it here whether you’re looking for a quiet evening with a glass of wine, a lively dinner with friends, or a particular spot for a family meal. So, if you’re in town this fall, whether a long-time local or just visiting, check out these Evolve approved spots.

1. The Pine (Creemore) was recently awarded a Michelin star and is a food lover’s paradise. It offers an exceptional fine dining experience, featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients in every dish and showcasing the best culinary artistry. With a 16-course experience, every dish is a true work of art. The Carrot Jiaozi, brown butter, and carrot-inspired dumpling is truly a crowd-pleaser.

2. Curries & Farmer’s Pantry (Collingwood & Clarksburg): For fresh, locally grown produce, Curries Farm Market and Farmer’s Pantry are the top choices for locals and visitors to the area. Enjoy the fall harvests with the wide variety of apples, pumpkins, and more—ideal for some home cooking and entertaining this Fall.

3. The Cheese Gallery (Thornbury) On the main street in Thornbury, you will find a local cheese gallery renowned for its selection of artisanal cheeses. It is a must-visit for the perfect party charcuterie board. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable when making your cheese decisions. When exploring the large array of host gifts, pair their famous grilled cheese sandwich with a glass of wine.

4. Gibson & Co. (Collingwood) In downtown Collingwood, you will find a charming, hidden gem coffee shop by day that transforms into an elegant whiskey bar by night. It’s perfect for a caffeine boost with exceptional coffee or unwinding after a long day with a cocktail. Don’t miss their famous trout sandwich, best enjoyed at the bar while chatting with the friendly, knowledgeable owners. They also offer a wide selection of wines and are there to answer any questions, making it an even more enjoyable experience.

5. Tremont Café (Collingwood), now housed in the Dorchester Hotel, is an elegant dining destination in Collingwood known for its impeccable service and exquisite menu. The Tremont is a local favorite for both locals in the area, hotel guests, and visitors. It boasts a beautiful ambiance and stylish bar, making the experience even more special. Try the delicious Tremont burger while enjoying the welcoming atmosphere and excellent ownership.

6. Low Down (Collingwood) is a cozy, intimate cocktail lounge located in Collingwood. It offers a blend of crafted drinks and some flavourful Asian-inspired dishes. Known for its famous margaritas and mouth-watering menu, including its renowned bao, tuna nachos, and popular bowls, it’s a local fan favorite for a fun night out. Enjoy the live music or stop by during happy hour, making it the perfect after-work destination to grab a drink with friends.

7. Apple Picking at TK Ferri Orchards (Clarksburg): Twenty acres of orchard with over 45,000 trees make for an enjoyable fall experience with friends and family. Picking your own apples makes for the perfect weekend experience while looking at the surrounding colours on the trees. Pop into the market for some honey-crisp apples to make the perfect pie this Fall season.

8. Cider Houses – Grey & Gold, Thornbury Village Cider House, & Spy Cider House (Collingwood & Surrounding area) Fall is the perfect time to explore the local cider houses. This area is known for apples and the crisp taste of their local cider. Thornbury Cider is known as a crowd favorite for both locals and visitors to the area. Grey & Gold and Spy Cider House, located in Clarksburg, offer a unique experience and delicious flavors. Both will have spectacular views for miles. Circle up with a blanket and enjoy a flavourful cider this Fall season.

9. Breweries – Collingwood Brewery & Sidelaunch Brewery (Collingwood) Home to two of the most spectacular breweries with an incredible experience. Sidelaunch Brewery is where you will find me on October 25th and November 29th, where I am sponsoring a “Yappy Hour” in support of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. Before the winter season arrives, there is a local taco food truck offering a variety of tasty tacos to enjoy while sipping on a cold beer or a seltzer. Side Launch also provides live music, which is a local weekend favorite.

10. Fabbrica (Thornbury), owned by the McEwan Group and owner Mark McEwan, has brought an impressive wine list and Italian cuisine to the area. Fabbrica is a standout dining spot that truly is a local favorite. The bone-in veal chop and their pasta and pizzas are a must-try, and the wine pairings will impress you. Whether you are sitting on their large patio this Fall season or inside the cozy, moody restaurant, it will be an experience that will be talked about and will have you coming back again and again.

The Blue Mountains region is an excellent destination during the fall season. From cozy cafes to artisanal restaurants, these places celebrate the best of our local community, homegrown ingredients, and locally produced wines. What sets them apart isn’t just the incredible food and drink but the people behind them – the owners are passionate about fostering a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. They’ve built relationships with their patrons, and it’s no surprise that many keep returning repeatedly.
