Toronto rolls out the pink carpet as the Canadian “Barbie” actors return home to celebrate the highly anticipated film
Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, stars of the highly-anticipated summer blockbuster BARBIE, brought a big dose of Kenergy and a glimpse of Barbie Land to life last night with a five-story immersive fan event in downtown Toronto. Big bursts of colour and excitement transformed the heart of Toronto’s King West Village into the magical world of BARBIE.
Hundreds of lucky Kenadian fans were invited to an exclusive event at 600 King St. West where they could leave the real world behind and step into the film. A complete venue takeover allowed guests to enjoy complimentary Barbie and Ken makeovers in a Barbie-fied Beauty Bar, dance their hearts out at the best dance party ever, and even surf the gorgeous pink sands of Kenada Beach!
Gosling and Liu took the stage to welcome everyone and surprised the audience by awarding a grand prize, which included a trip for two to Los Angeles with tickets to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, a one-year supply of NYX Cosmetics, and a signed Kenada surfboard. The Kenadian duo then participated in a national pink carpet press line, speaking with Canadian broadcast, radio, digital, and print outlets.
The exclusive Kenadian long weekend kick-off was hosted by etalk’s Traci Melchor and included DJ sets from Recording Artist, Producer, and the Official DJ of the Toronto Raptors, 4Korners. To make sure everyone left tickled pink, all attendees received passes to see the film in theatres and bright pink gift bags filled with BARBIE keepsakes.
The event instantly became the hottest ticket in the Country as multiple brands, partners and fans shared their sheer excitement on social using the hashtag #Kenada.
